Hello all.
If the full level (P, after shifting, idling) is at the lower lip of the shown threaded tube stub attached to the pan front, is the stick full mark supposed to be exactly at that level when fully inserted ?
Isn't then the stick end horizontal ? How does it show properly ?
The 'full' mark notch on the stick is 32mm away from the tip of the stick. How does it work ?

Reason: Image does not stick, 'Go advance' not available.
Thanks. As some people have transplanted the oil pan from a Disco 1 to Disco 2 to gain the dipstick 'feature'; I have to believe the pans are the same, differing in the threaded stub to attach the dipstick tube, and the 'full' level being the same as the lower lip of that stub out of the pan.
Seems to me that the 'full' notch if in the rising portion would be way higher than the oil. Cannot get it how it works.
Well, for sure it does work. I guess, if the dipstick stays up in the rising portion, then the full oil level is higher than the top of the stub. Maybe try measuring the length of the tube to compare to the dipstick length.
