Trouble Starting
#11
was there ever any resolution to this? I was having intermittent cold starting issues (turns right over when warm every time), and figured "fuel filters never been done, get after that" Change the fuel filter, now my truck has issues starting cold EVERY time. Im getting 28 @ the rail when it's running and when i shut it off, with the key in the on position the pressure drops to like 2 or 3 psi. Does this sound like air in the system to you guys or a pump? More probable that i should go back and check the fuel filter connections, or should i start shopping a pump?
I put gas in this am, always starts right up, first crank, no issues, cold or warm. Drove it 2 miles, turned it off, went to start it up again and it cranked for 2-3 seconds, didn't start. Cranked it again and after about 3 seconds it fired right up. Got it home, turned it off then on again, fired right up. So I'm wondering if I have the beginnings of a delivery issue.

Does it idle rough during a warm start or just continuously cranking?

doesnt idle rough at all, except for the initial part where it runs over, it'll start real low like sub 500 and then work its way up, inside like ten seconds. Where as when it's warm. BOOM, satrts right up at like 800 and stays, but whenever it starts after the cold cranking issue it sounds like it's gonna stall until it get its legs underneath it. but only a few seconds. And if you stay in it, and crank it two or three times, its guaranteed to start. just doesnt do it as quickly as papa bear wants it to
Warm starts are a dream. Everything works perfect, only have issues during cold start and it takes a few seconds and fixes itself
no power loss during acceleration, none of the other stuff that would tell me fuel pump.
