Default '03 disco "mode" button not working

have an '03 disco and the mode button has never worked. when i push it, it has never lit up and nothing on the instrument cluster. i checked all the fuses and they look to be ok. anyone have any ideas? could this simply be a bad switch?

Maybe the bulb is not in the dash, or has burned out.
Does it illuminate when you put the ignition key in?

The one on the steering wheel controls, or the one on the shift console?

The sport mode on the console is fused by the tran computer. You can however check the wiring input/output at pins 45 & 25 on the tranny ECU connector - attached.

edit - that would be 51 and 25.

i checked all the fuses again and they are good, maybe it's just the bulb (instrument cluster). my mode button is at the shifter base.

You might use an OHM meter and verify if you have power, in and out of the switch also.
