04 Radiator
Ok I have read a bunch of threads many from 2009.
The 04 with SAI needs a radiator. Which one to buy? I have found everything from new to used on Eprey AB wants 300 samolies for one. Lucky8 I couldn;t find one on your website. Eprey used $150 New 200 something.
Can I get one with a drain plug ??
I hate to start another thread about this but maybe some updated info is out there.
I still can't believe that there is not a graceful way to drain the old one. I may take it somewhere and have it done just to avoid the mess.
Thanks. everyone
The info I get here will be the deciding factor on which to get. This truck is in it for the long haul. Planning a long road trip this fall.

I got a Nissens for my '04 from Lucky8 for around $200. You have to call them because their website is "under development." I think people have gotten the Nissens for less through other sources but I don't mind giving some business to those guys.
The same radiator fits all D2's, you just pull the plug and install the SAI temp sender if you have one. You can probably use that sender as a drain if you want, but pulling the hose is so much more fun. It's really the only way to ensure you get some coolant in your mouth and eyes.

Is Nissans the better one or just cost more?
Nissens makes a good radiator, but there was a lengthy thread on this issue not too long ago where this was all covered. You should search for it, it was pretty entertaining. Disco Mike claims that the radiator from BP Utah that is made in Scotland is your best option, while some say it doesn't matter. I have no complaints about my Nissens. The Nissens can be made just about anywhere, but they have a good rep and seem to be of decent quality no matter where they come from.
Regardless of where you get it from, I strongly suggest using cable ties to mount your lower fan shroud instead of the screws. I had to replace an otherwise perfectly good radiator because the tank cracked at the screw. This seems to be a fairly common occurrence and it is easily avoided. The cable tie fix is kinda ghetto but it has been working awesome on my truck for over a year now.

I found the thread. The way I see it . Unless I spend a bunch for an all aluminum that needs to be modified to fit ( or the truck needs mods) almost any of them will do the job. Price is the thing here. Not much difference there either.
Thanks
I will start looking tonight.
