could be but you could take out those plugs and look in with a flashlight for a steam cleaned piston.

Are you loosing coolant?

On a good note, since cylinders 4 and 5 are on opposite sides of the engine, your misfire codes may not be wet cylinder related and may in fact be your old wires but, look at the pistons anyway..especially if you are loosing coolant.

well that's good news. if you are not loosing enough out of your tank to notice and no steam from your exhaust then unlikely your block is cracked.
let us know what your pistons look like on those cylinders and how the hose test goes when you get a chance to do all of that.

good luck! I've got my fingers crossed for you.
just to be clear, you can have a liner slipping and ticking and not have a cracked block so once you determine if you do or do not have a slipping liner... then you can go from there.
and you do need new wires but, you may want to wait till you check your pistons and do your hose test and then come back to that.

Ok I did a little investigating pulled the 1,3,5,7 plugs since that's all I had time for and pulled the codes with my scanner. I also found that my coolant level did drop. Codes pulled:
P0135

P1590

P0155

P0171

P1300

P0301

P0303

P0305

P1319

P1668

Did you spray the bottom of the block to see if the clanging went away? The missfires and stuff are easy to fix, but it may not be worth it if you have a loose sleeve.
