i have a 2000 d2, when I was driving it yesterday I got on it to pass someone and the tranny gave out and I had no driving gear and it was making a grinding noise under it. when I got home I put it on the lift and looked in the bell housing through the service hole and can see many pieces of torn and bent metal all around, I was told when I bought this that it need a flex plate because the one was cracked that was in it. and when talking to my mechanic he thought that my flex plate broke and tore up the torque converter and flex plate and possibly my tranny also. Any thoughts?

 

if you lucky just the flex plate and starter will be distorted
