2000 overheating
First I want to apologize for my re-posts earlier, im slow in learning the forums. Anyway, I am looking at a 2000 Disco with 65k on it. The guy is asking $5k. The problem with it is that it overheats. He said he replaced the thermostat and the head gasket and the problem continues. He also said a mechanic told him it was the radiator because it has a cold spot on it. Does this sound correct? Is there a way to check the radiator myself? He also told me it would cost around $500 to replace the radiator. Does this sound correct? Any info is great. Thanks everyone
You probably have air in your coolant system and it needs to be bled properly, I believe there is a sticky for that at the top. I would get on it before you warp your heads or blow another gasket. Are you experiencing the "waterfall" sound coming from the glove box area?
It is not my rover. I am looking at it as a potential buy but im scared of the overheating issue. Basically im trying to figure out whether or not the rig is worth buying for $5k with 65k miles, its a 2000.
