2001 Discovery 2 - Brakes
I m looking for advise because I cant get my brakes to work. It all started when I replaced the front pads one one side I did not open the line to back the pistons just back them up with the tool. After that no brakes. I replaced both calipers new since. I bled the system with a pump made to bleed brakes, no brakes. Is the problem air in the line, ABS master cylinder? I am at at loss Help!
There is also the potential that you need to fire the ABS pump to help clear the air. I have had to do it sometime, and have not had to other times. Easy enough, just get 20' of wire and plug into the fuse box, you can find the directions pretty easily.
When you pushed the caliper cups back in...did you remove master cylinder reservoir cap? If not, you could have ruined master cylinder. Excess fluid has to escape the reservoir...or it can blow seals in master cylinders plunger shuttle valve...and leak into vacuum booster.
