I'm going to snug'em up in the morning and bypass the throttle heater plenum while I'm in there. I've noted your additional checks/maintenance on my sheet for the valve gaskets.
RAVE manual downloaded, going to print a hard copy of applicable sections to stay on the truck, copy on my phone, Dropbox etc.
I'm researching the seatbelts too now as the drivers side belt catches every time I pull more than an inch, more than frustrating to go anywhere. I also discovered the middle passenger seat (60 split) doesn't latch into place securely.
Had 255/70r16 Michelin M/S2 installed today. I know they'll last forever but how do these compare to more aggressive tires from Michelin? 30 days to try em and switch, I'm open to Michelin tire suggestions too.

Will a 95r70 battery fit a series 2? Find a new one on CL for $70 from 03+ Range Rover.

Start with a new battery. You only have a few years of life in a new one. If cash is tight, boneyards sell pullouts for $25.

Picked up the DieHard Platinum Marine 850cca for $205 @ Sears this morning.
I saw your advice on another thread on battery rotation, I'm in but going for switching on my birthday every odd year.
Ordered my K&N air filter too, pick up this afternoon and I'll install'm both at the same time this evening. The weather is great, went for a ride with my 11 month old this morning... I'll have these wonderful memories to think of when I gotta do work on this truck.

Installed the DieHard & set AC to F°.
Peeled the nasty air filter out & carefully vacuumed the debris out of the housing before wiping down the excess oil prior to installing the K&N.
On the drive I noticed marked improvement in the engines ability to breathe but the exhaust leak is annoying me now.
Now that the basics are on the way I've got a shopping list for the high mile Disco service to knock out. Wish me luck

K&N filter is not good for truck. Too much oil/dirt into the MAF sensor.

You will also note that the warranty on the KN is void if used off road. That should be a sign of things to come....

Be sure exhaust leak is coming from exhaust and not out the side of the head gasket like mine did. You can use a short piece of hose to move around and listen thru to isolate it.

I'm going to remember that hose trick, thanks ahead!
I only intend to familiarize myself with the Disco's off-road abilities for snow trips to NC & worst case scenarios/SHTF. I hope that the K&N will be decent for my bus stop duties. My wife claims I drive like a old man on the way to church. I'm a disabled vet, so I've learned to avoid most anything that could possibly be exciting or stressful. Maybe sounds mundane? I promise it's welcome.

That being said, performance is still a factor for me. Which air filter would you recommend?

A bolt is missing from the downpipe flange. The Shop said they might could throw one on when they do the transfer case seal.

I also need to replace some grommets on the matter cylinder lines, wish I'd grabbed them from the dealer earlier when I was out.

Default Hey Savannah

Great photos, they give an idea of what I am in for when I pull my covers off. Does the oil travel from the rockers to the lifters? or are the lifters fed from a passage in the block?
