Default 2001 Discovery Water Pump

First off, please excuse me if I ask any dumb questions. I am trying to replace my water pump. I am trying to get the fan off and don't see any easy way to get it off. I don't have any tools that will fit in the tight spot. Is there any possible way to remove it without purchasing the "proper" tools from Land Rover?

Thanks all for reading this and maybe replying.

Get a crescent wrench that fits the fan bolt. The crescent wrench need to be long and steady.

Fiddle with the width of the wrench to get the wrench exactly fitted to the diameter of the fan bolt.

The wrench then will extend upward and should be near the alternator pulley.

Get a 4 lb hammer at Sears. The small stubby 4 lb hammer.

Whack from the right to the left on the crescent handle with the hammer.
With a few good whacks the fan will loosen and come off.

Be careful not to hit the alternator pulley.
