2003 D2 Alpine After Market Radio Replacement
I have a 2003 D2 with Alpine and CD changer. I want to replace it with a new head - primarily for BT but i guess i like the big screen and some of the other features (e.g. pandora) that these things come with.
Ive searched the threads on this board and others and see lots of people have done it but i cant find a clear example of a replacemnt. with specs and instructions. What im looking for is someone that had success and loves their set up. I want to DIY with about a 200-300 budget. I dont want to change speakers, amps, cut wires and want to keep my steering wheel controls.
So ... a. what head unit should i buy b. what other things - harness, antenna adatpers et al c. what are the gotchas?

I'm in the same boat right now and debating the same.
I'm mostly annoyed that we have a 1.5 din stereo spot so I can't go double DIN. Grrr. There are much nicer touchscreen options with double.
I have probably done about 6 or more stereos in other cars. I'm thinking of going generic flip out screen so I can get backup cam too. I like this one on ebay for cheap: It has back up cam and you can add on a steering wheel controller that I've used before. You never know with this generic junk, but I've learned you never know with brand name either!
I'll follow your thread, let us know what you decide!

not mine but this is what i did based on this post:
https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...hscreen-44308/
mine came out good. I have BT, back-up cam, GPS/Navi, SD slot for songs and it came with an iPod adater cord which is in the glove box. the modification is not expensive, just time, body filler, and dremel sanding discs and spray paint. a picture of mine is on page 2, post #16
