68k miles. Payed $500 for it. Didnt run...replaced crank sensor and started up. 3rd disco I've owned.

Issues:
1...alt puts out 13.78 at idle.
2...3 amigos.
3...intermittent flashing m,s and drive
4...was gonna replace xyz switch but when tried to pull linkage the put broke off.
5...due to rust the t case linkage is stiff so intend to replace with parts from a 96 so I can have diff lock.

 

I'd like to swap over to something like a gm or Ford 1-wire 140amp alt...but not sure what would bolt on. Or if a 1-wire will still keep everything working right

 

P38 RR 99-02 Bosch = 150AMP alternator from the factory & bolts right in. 13.78 = good

 

Have you scanned the ecu for codes and the reason behind the m+s flashing?

 

Yes. But it was almost a yr ago. And my scanner is busted. And no plates so cant take it in

 

Clean those terminals like a crazy person & make sure they’re tight!

 

Glsawyer where abouts are you? if your close I could bring my scanner by and have a look for ya.
