Hey guys, just bought a 03 disco SE7 for some fun off road use. When I received the car it does not have the owners manual and wanted to know a couple things. The truck has the 18 inch split spoke wheels with 255/55 tires. What is the correct cold air pressure to run in the tires?

 

Read the sticker inside the drivers door jam and add 5 pounds to both the front and rear.
Be careful with the 18's off road, they are prone to little traction and sidewall tears.

 

I looked there but is shows 46psi cold for the front and the rears. That seems very high. The tire itself says do not exceed 50 lbs. Does 46 psi front and rear sound right to you?

 

Yes that is right. Because 18" tires have no sidewall you need them as full as possible, if they are aired down then you will increase the risk of sidewall damage.
Do what the door sticker says, no more no less.
If you are going to do more than dirt roads then dump the 18"s and get the 16"s.
You can look for used DII rims or used P38 (Range Rover late '90's to early 2000's) rims.

 

Check that sticker once again... Mine says 30 in front and 46 in rear. I know that's a big difference front to rear, but it really rides and performs best at that pressure.

Edit: Mine has the stock 18" Hurricane Wheels.
