Hate to be the Debbie downer here. These engines are fately flawed. I and the previous owner of my 03 where OCD about maintenance and preventive maintenance and still my motor is shot at 153k miles because the cam bearing wanted to fall out. Never been overheated always been taken care of. Saying matience is the answer is just a way of trying to feel better about the situation. If a failed head gasket doesn't get you over heated and your oil pump doeasnt crack or if a bearing doesn't fall out or your liners don't tick up and down until the poorly cast block leaks then you should be fine for many miles.
