OK guys,

I have a 99 Disco 2 and I cannot get the rear seats to latch in the normal position. Nor, can I get the seat to flip forward for removal of the torx screws. I sprayed the latch mechanism with lube, removed the front torx bolts, slammed the seat back and forth, cussed at it, and ready to shoot the thing.

Is there any way to get the seat flipped forward so I can remove the plastic cover on the mechanism to inspect it. A cable perhaps to pull.

The upper Red button does not seat properly with the seat in the upward position. It can launch forward on a hard brake situation. Not safe.
