You can bump it with no oil.
There is still an oil film on the crank and the journal surfaces.
If it starts, turn the key off fast.

your right jfall.. i was looking at wrong spec. thanks for pointing that out. I have the v8 also..

so since the oil pan seal leaks as well .. going to do

oil pan seal .. front main seal ... timing chain seal .. new timing chain...

hopefully that will stop the BP protesters out on my lawn !

might have to find a new nickname for my Land Oiler 2000

anything else while i am in there that i should get ?

it has 179k on it .. thats why i am doing the chain ..

I recommend that you get yourself a 2x4 and use that to keep the crankshaft from rotating by wedging it between the crankshaft and the side of the block. You can use it when you loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt as well as to tighten it.

I just did the front cover, oil pan, front seal gaskets and found it to be the easiest method. You have to take the oil pan off to get to the front cover anyways.
