I used the larger transmission cooler but as you pointed out elsewhere the 03 stupidly does not have an oil cooler, so I just left the 00 oil cooler hooked up (since I haven't swapped the new engine in yet).
So, do you know for a fact whether the larger transmission cooler (if I buy one) will fit in the assembly as an oil cooler? That would be the bomb.

For a fact.

That latter is a great, great, GREAT idea. I assume they will fit the plastic slots. More cooling more better.

So a little update.
Engine has dragged on a bit. I have another thread where I tried and failed to get a definite answer to the correct spec for a connecting rod housing bore, but I think/hope I got close enough. I had to order new conrod bolts (they are stretch bolts, fyi). Then I got bored and ordered some new wheel hubs. I also got a new CPS, MAF, and injector rebuild kit so I won't be chasing gremlins, and while I have been waiting I put a new fuel pump on. The cam is being fitted today. At some point I will be reassembling the engine... sooner the better. ATLDisco sent me his ABS Amigo so maybe I can banish the three amigos (at least, from everywhere except for my vacuum) before it is ready to install.

[QUOTE=Charlie_V;523847]I installed a GBR double cardan driveshaft tonight. It has a longer spline and will work per Bill @ GBR. The old 03 driveshaft is now on a shelf.
