4 quarts for a 97 disco transmission?

Default 4 quarts for a 97 disco transmission?

i was told 9 5/6 there is no way that is right

If you pull the drain plug on the transmission pan it
will take four to four and a half quarts of fluid.

If in question, start with with 4 quarts, warm up the tranny and recheck the level and add accordingly.
Be glad you have one of the older trannys, from 99 on they didn't use did sticks.

If from 99 on they do not have sticks how do you check the tranny fluid level?

When warm and level, you remove the fill plug, if oil comes out you are OK, if not you are low.
