That's why I said "with an extension." A deep well socket isn't really required since there is no protruding bolt it needs to fit over.
But with a 1/4" drive flex drive handle you don't even need that as you can turn the handle straight up and convert it to a "T" handle by sticking a screwdriver through the hole in it.

My Sears does not lock up their tools.

Must just be where you live?

I must say I am very pleased with my Craftsman tools, I have broken my 3/8" drive ratchet and took it to Sears, walked in the door, walked out with a new one no questions asked.
Did the same thing with a screwdriver that I used as a pry bar snapped it in half, walked out with a new one.

NAPA has nice tools with a LTW also.

K-Mart also sells Craftsman ever since they bought Sears.

I recently replaced several wrenches and cracked sockets that were over 30 years old at Sears under warranty with no questions asked. My Sears locks up some tools which I am sure is because of the shop lifting issue. I found the 8mm 12 point socket at my Sears hanging on the wall.

I like my craftsman sockets (though when you put them side by side with any other american brand they pale in comparison) and the sears replacement warranty is great. Unless of course you have a nice old ratchet from the 70's or 80's and you take it back and get one of their new plastic ratchets, that stinks.

Sooner or later craftsman is going to go away or the tools will be made in china or taiwan and the lifetime warranty will mean nothing.

All the Sears and Sears hardware around here have the tools behind glass.

Yeah, can't beat the no-questions asked warranty at Sears. I would love to buy snap-on or mac but don't see many trucks around here. I'll check eBay.

Just an update: The 5/16 in. 12pt. deep socket (1/4" drive) worked perfectly:

Here it is with a 6" extension on the 1/4" drive ratchet

If you go with a shallow socket, get an extension longer than 6" - the right/passenger side back bolt (near the #8 cylinder) was tough to get to because of hoses (as you can see here, I had to do a little "dance" to get her in):

then went behind the spark plug wires/leads as well:

I thought the used car dealer tightened them up as I asked, but they didn't - I had to turn at least 180-degrees and then a smidge to tighten properly.

Craftsman makes a 260 piece mechanics set that is great. It has most every sized socket (over 150 sockets) in short and deep, SAE and metric, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 6 point and 12 point plus ratchets, wrenches, allen set and a nut driver set. It goes on sale for $170 often and is their best starter kit IMO. I bought it just to get all those sockets at once. Plus its nice to have a second set of wrenches and ratchets for the truck toolbox.

I used to have one, but made the mistake of lending it out. It quickly became a 200-piece set.

@JavaDiscoII & Shane83 - it's my pleasure. Pics, I believe, always makes things easier. Ask IKEA... ok, maybe not a good example.
