Looks like I have most of the parts I need and will be putting my engine back together.
Just wanted to check what I need to do during reassembly...

Use hylomar on the valley pan gasket retainers and at the points mentioned in rave.
Use some aviation seal around coolant ports (on both sides of gasket?)
Head gaskets go on dry.
Using new head bolts, lightly lubed with 30W oil.
New exhaust manifold & valve cover bolts.
Anti-seize and dielectric grease on the plugs & wires.
New rad & condenser (old ones rotted out)
New PS hoses. Much easier with rad out :-)

Now for the over and above stuff.
I'm going to use contact cleaner on all the connectors before putting them back together. Should I put a bit of dielectric grease on at the same time?
The black plastic cable shield (congregated tube) has rotted away on a few of the harnesses (oil & heat I suppose). Should I replace it and if so with what? I'm sure the stuff you pick up for audio/video cables wont take the heat :-)
Copper ant-seize on all the bolts? Most of them came off with out too much grief. So probably over kill?
Should I replace the injector seals while I have access? I didn't take them or the fuel rail off but....

Any other tricks or tips?

only thing i can think of is to use a good calibrated torque wrench (no chinese made crap) and be sure to use the correct torquing sequence

 

Why was the engine apart? If I have my engine far enough apart - I would have it ported and polished while it was apart. Maybe someone can elaborate on if this engine (mines an 04) has the tolerances for this. It would boost Horses.
