Default ABS Sensr Cleaning

I have seen several times on this forum the recommendation to clean the ABS sensors to help with intermittent 3 amigos.

I recently replaced the breaks and rotor with the recommended ceramic pads and everything is great (breaks work better than ever and no squeaking at all).

I borrowed a Amigo and I had no codes active or stored.

My 3 amigos come on about once a day. If I shut off the truck and restart they will stay on.

If I shut off the truck and let it sit for a while or overnight they are always off when I restart.

My question is that the Land Rover Workshop Manual says that the:

"ABS sensor is supplied fitted to wheel hub and must not be removed."

If this is what the manual says, how do they come out to be cleaned and does this really help?

Thanks,

At the time I had the amigo scanner tool they were off but I thought it would have stored previous codes.

I was hoping that since I had a lot of old brake dust (and I mean a lot!) from the old brakes that cleaning the sensor would help.

But I didn't see any way in the shop manual to remove/clean the sensor.

unless you have a "hard code" you are just guessing and throwing money at it. Better off waiting to know for sure; there are several dozen thing that could set them off.

I fully agree that it is a shot in the dark but if someone can confirm to me that there is a way to pull and clean the sensors then it would cost me nothing but a small amount of my time to see if it resolved the problem.

Just trying to do the simple/basic things that are possible first!

Leave the sensors alone, there are 16 reasons for the ABS to come and go and you need to read the codes when the lights are on.
