Default Advanced Help Request Electrical - Instrument Lights Not Working

2003 LR-Discovery2 SE
My first post on here. I've been following other older posts about the instrument lights going out and followed a number of steps.

Current situation.
  • No dashboard instrument lights, center arm console lights (window, seat heaters), temp control lights working, shift indicator lights not working when lights are on. They all went out at the same time and the shift indicator lights are on when the lights are off and off when on
  • Other instrument lights working, fog lights, washer, hazards
    • turn signal lights working
    • headlamps working, inc high beams
    • dome lights working
The issue seems to be isolated to items working off the dimmer.

Steps I've taken
  • Checked fuses internal cabin, engine compartment
  • Cleaned battery connector
  • Replaced Dimmer Control S183
  • Replaced Switch Lighting S100 - Turn Signal Stem
  • Pulled Instrument Cluster - Visual Light Bulb Check, looked intact and instrument cluster connector
I've highlighted the items in the schematics that are impacted (red) and those not (green).

I've hit a wall and don't know how to troubleshoot and where to go with this! What am I missing.

Any guidance, advice and support is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hmm, is there a short in that circuit for the dimmable lights. It’s good you have isolated it to that circuit as a first step.

Methodological progress will figure this out.

Looking at diagrams, common failure point to it all would be “Switch Lighting 0100” -- your headlamp switch. Swap that?

Can you measure voltage at the dimmer switch? 0?
Chk ground at C0201-3 and confirm
What about the fuse 33 (10amp)? Fuse11 (10amp? The reason I dont think it’s these is they would be have to be bad for the gear shifter lights to be out.

Otherwise, connector issue/wiring issue?

This doesn’t run through the BCU so that’s good.

Do you have any interior water ingress into the fusebox under the drivers knee? Any corrosion? Any leaks AT ALL in the car recently or in the past?

Thank you for the reply and guidance.

I swapped out Switch Lighting 0100 with a known good working unit and no change.
I did check fuse 33 and Fuse 11 and swapped them with other fuses. I was going to buy 2 new ones just in the event they were old but I also bout it's there of the shifter light would be out.
Leak in passenger side pillar was resolved that came through the corner, this was months ago and applied the sealant under the trim roof repair as per service action N221. No water on driver side through fuse box.

Thank you for confirming this doesn't run through BCU - I was starting to think that was next step.

Advice on how I can check C0201-3 ground as it looks like it's related to ABS system and I have not found a video on this. Easy next step is to try a multi-meter on the dimmer and on the bulbs one more time.

Check header 0760?
Unplug / replug in connector C0201 at the rheostat/dimmer switch? is it good?

Do your power mirrors work? Rear heated window? Front heated windshield? Front fog lamps (ie each of these switches would LIGHT UP with engaged with brighter illumination... even though the dimmable base illumination isn’t working). That brighter illumination does *not* run through the dimmer or dash lighting circuit. I ask because -- They’re grounded there at that header too. So if that header’s bad then they won’t work at all.
