Default annoying wind noise

Hey guys. Is there anyway to easily adjust the front doors on a D2. For the longest time, I have had bad wind noise coming in from the passenger front door (sounds as if the window is open a tiny bit) once I reach about 60 mph. I just thought that it was a bad seal and since there was no water coming in did nothing about it. However, a few months back the truck was broken into through the drivers side front door for my GPS (dirtbags) and now, after getting a new window, I have the same wind noise on both sides of the car. This leads me to believe that the doors are a little off and just need to be adjusted rather then needing new seals. Can anyone help me out because its really quite annoying when I get up to speed? I mean I can barely hear people in the truck when it gets to be its loudest. Thanks alot.

If you look at the doors, from the outside, do the panels not look like they are matched up?
If everything looks smooth and contured from the out side, then it is your seals, be it either the door seals or the glass seals.
Sounds like you are going to need to check again.

I had a problem with wind noise awhile back and couldn't figure it out until I finally noticed that the black plastic shroud that covers the pillar on the passenger side of the winshield hadn't been reinstalled correctly when they replaced the windhield. They reused the plastic rivets and they didn't hold. Anyway, the shroudworked itself slightly loosecreating anamazing amount of windnoise.

Good luck!

This is probably not the orthodox method but it worked great for me:

I read somewhere, possibly on this forum, that to fix theproblem you lower the window all the way, then open the door, place knee on door and grab the front part of the door frame near the bend that touches the A pillar. You only need to tug one or two times ... don't horse it too hard! I did this and now my truck is nice and quiet.

I am guessing that the formal way would be too have some body shop readjust the doors, etc. but I'm a cheap @$$ and this thing is paid for so I wasn't worried about it ... just be careful! Good luck!

I checked the doors and they seem to be aligned pretty well. What actually happens is that whenI get up to speed,I can see the top part of the door break away from the frame of the truck (the air forces its way in between the seal on the frameand the upper part of the door). I tested it by pushing on the top part of the window at speed and it made the noise much louder. Hey afphinfan are you telling me to try to bend the upper bracket (the skinny blacktop part of the door)inwards? Seems logical but I just wanted to check. Thanks alot for the feedback

I believe we are saying the same thing ... just to clarify: I mean the top of the door frame that starts to angle down towards the side mirror. Hope that helps.

You can adjust how tight the door closes by using a star head socket and opening the door and you will see a round thing sticking out of the door frame on the trk. It is the thing that the door latch latches to. If you loosen it you can move that in (towards the inside of the trk) or out (move it towards the outside of the trk) and it will adjust how tight the door closes.
I had to adjust the rear doors on my D1 because it was to tight and sometimes the doors wouldnt close at all.
But I would try that, it is simple to do yourself, if you can get them to close alittle tighter maybe the wind wont "grab" the door frame.

I'm Going to post in an old post and see if i can open an old one,if I dont get any responses ill start a new thread.
I too suffer from an annoyoing Wind noise, coming from somewhere in the Drivers side... I've noticed that a trim piece at the bottom of the window on the inside is lifted up near the lock, and would like to try and replace that piece, but the Wind noise seems to be coming from up above...

Hey I'm the man who made the original post. I finally was able to get the noise down to acceptable levels by putting an extra piece of rubber weather strip around the door jam. It took some time to get it right but you have to put the new piece of weatherstripping under the lip of the old stuff in order to get a good seal. In actuality you are trying to "puff up" the old stuff so that the door fits tighter when it is closed. Good luck
