ive got the 180 motard or whatever its called. having these thermostats away from the engine is ridiculous. I thought about trying to find a smaller water pump pulley and over drive the fan and pump. Seems 2k rpms is where the real cooling takes place but in slow traffic it wants to run about 210.

My truck's cruising temp is 188.6 winter or summer in Charlotte.

I bought a Motorad 180 and didn't open until 194. I used it for about 2 weeks & ditched it for a Meziere inline housing and GM type 180 degree Stant Superstat and the operating temp does not fluctuate or vary, except if I turn on the AC and its over 90 degrees out.

Fan noise update.

So from inside the rover I've not noticed any difference in using the Dorman fan / Hayden 2781 Premium Fan Clutch combo. But yesterday I was outside of the rover while it was running and the fan noise is appreciably louder than the original one piece fan combo. Not anything alarming or bothersome but definitely more fan noise than before.

This is week two of running the new fan so I'm pretty sure it's broken in by now.

More air flow = more noise. Kinda like using a home fan on low & then turning it up to high.
