Default Anyone have problems with Seafoam induction cleaning?

I have been wanting to do this since I bought my truck four years ago, but one thing has always kept me from it:

All the smoke blowing afterward!

I live in a pretty populated area, so i've always been pretty worried about police or the bomb squad getting me. Perhaps I'm over reacting a bit and expecting the worst, but has anyone here ever been pulled over or anything for the smoke blowing out?

I meant to do this when I was down in rural eastern TN visiting my parents , but despite hauling the cans of Seafoam down there and having a plan, I chickened out this past trip.

You'll be fine.......Just carry the can with you. if you get pulled over, tell them you are heading to your shop to get it checked out right then....................

Dont waste your time, just add it to the gas tank.
Have you ever seen baked on carbon?
Have you ever tried to remove it without a chisel and hammer?
It cant be done without a industrial solvent, even then it still requires elbow grease.

It do kill da skeeterz, and you think things run smooth afterwards, but in reality you most likely is just glad da motor didn't blow up. I've done it on several makes and models, SWMBO's van puffed out so much smoke that the guy behind me had to turn on his lights... I imagine Spike is right about the carbon, what we see is likely the fine mist of sludge left by the PCV system going up in smoke.

Please don't do it inside your garage. Hmmm.... another shop prank.....

I go to a field about a mile from my house and then do the induction cleaning. I usually do a half bottle or until light smoke starts coming out, then wait about 30 to 40 minutes and then run (actually drive it, don't just idle) it until the exhaust is clear. It should take about 20 minutes to be 100 percent clear. That being said, I've done it twice I don't think I'll ever do it again. Just put it in the gas tank, or oil right before a change.

When you think about it, back when the Sea Foam was invented, carbs ruled, and the path from the throttle plate to the intake valves was "gasoline alley". Now that same path is mainly filtered air and the PCV fumes.

Amszoil promotes "Power Foam".

Stuff got a carbureted Chevy Citation I had to idle smooth.
Same thing - run it at idle - stuff the cleaner in the intake until it almost stalls.
Let it soak and then start up and brisk on the pedal.

I've used it on many other cars with no ill effects. I used it on the disco, and then needed two new front O2 sensors. Coincidence? Could be, but I won't be using on the disco again. My $0.02.
