Is the Autel AL619 the proper scanner to buy ?

I highly doubt there's a huge difference on the abs systems from 1999-2004(ours is a 1999)
Before I found frayed wires under our abs module I was resetting a random abs light every few months. Then again when a passenger side hub decided to yeet itself. Found it thanks to the scanner, it was tight but not enough to stick out when spinning the tire on a jack stand and had no side/side play.

Had to use the abs feature again tonight on the foxwell when the 3 amigos randomly appeared.
Will not work while running. Key must be on position, not running. Tried it while the significant other was driving to the store.
Random open valve fault I've never seen before.

I concur. I've been using this Autel model for 5 years and it DOES indeed check ABS codes on my 2003 Disco. However, it does not read ABS codes on newer vehicles. I can't recall the exact cutoff but I think it is 2018.

Great advice on the Autel AL619! Having the right scanner makes all the difference when you're dealing with issues on the Discovery II. For anyone who often needs to send diagnostic reports or repair documents, I’d suggest giving https://comfax.com/fax-without-fax-machine/ can you send a fax without a fax machine a try. It's an app that lets you send faxes and documents straight from your phone, which is super convenient when you're on the go and don’t have access to a fax machine
