I have a Deka battery in mine. It is the only battery my local Indy Shop recommends. Not sure why but Seems to be servicing me well.

I go to my local wrecking yard, $25 for any battery with a pile to pick from. And if it's no good they take it back.
Makes it a bit random, but… $25.

I am intrigued by the Napa Legend AGM battery. Made by EPM. It seems most batteries are made by just a few companies. The difference may be in the quality of the finish and warranty.

Thanks for all your suggestions very much appreciated.

Based on all your comments here's where I stand.

Odyssey would be the best choice but out of my price change. The Sears version is not available in Canada if not that would be my choice.

Intetate seams to be a good value for money but still on the expensive side.

I think I am just going to go for a conventinal floaded battery from Kirkland/Costco. As they have a great warranty, Costco is less then 2 miles from my house, consumer reports gave them a great best bang for the buck review and they are cheap.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I have always been a advocate for Interstate but this time I went to Batteries Plus (a retailer in my area) and bought me a AGM 1150CCA monster with a 48 month warranty included. It barely fit into the battery tray. I have a bunch of lights and other electrical load so I went with AGM Technology. I have been happy with it for over a year plus.

IMO batteries are a lottery, some last 10 years+ and others only the life of the warranty if that. Having fitted the best for years I've now opted to try out the cheapo range with 4 year warranty and see how they perform. For a D2 battery you can pay as little as $100 or as much as $600 and they are more than likely to perform exactly the same. IMO it depends on luck, useage and charge/discharge cycles. My original LR battery made by Bosch I believe only lasted 2-3 years probably because the truck wasn't used and was probably sitting in some field for a year or so.

My Optima Yellow (which I bought just a few months ago) died in the negative degree weather a few days ago. I took it back to Advance Auto as a warranty return and bought an AutoCraft Platinum AGM. Better specs, better price, and it seems to be working great.

I've read both good and bad about Optima. Some swear by them and others think they are expensive rubbish, again, I believe it's a lottery and luck with these batteries also.

IMO a battery should stand up to most temperatures apart from the absolute low and high extremes and in so doing last between 5-10 years with regular use.
