Default Aluminum

That would be awesome. I would replace mine just to have aluminum for that price. Has anyone mounted one with SAI?

What about the small nipple from the overflow tank?

IMO all alu is best for what we all need. Brass or copper cores will silt up just as easily as alu and not last any longer. The bonus with brass is they can be DIY repaired with careful soldering but the downside is they also corrode, are extremely heavy and just as fragile and cost a fortune. If you fit an alu rad be sure to wash/spray it in cellulose thinners first, wipe it clean and dry and then spray it with alu etch primer and the whatever color you fancy thereafter providing it's high temp radiator paint as winter road salt just loves alu, loves eating it for breakfast.

I always spray a final coat of paint in matt black rad paint as tests have proved colour is almost irrelevent.

PS I am presently fitting triple core all alu rads to my Pajero first and then my D2 and will report back on the cooling improvements, if any

The now dead link was ----> Screenshot From KMJ Site Photo by Innernet | Photobucket
Read the text under the picture.

Now they went to $185, no more at $161 at my door as I bought it 2 years ago. But yes, that is the number : 209620 from 'Northern'

The nipple for the overflow tank if I remember well, comes from a 'T' now. I just forgot about as have zero radiator problems, hopely forever.

The actual nipple in the aluminium radiator goes to a hose for draining.
The aluminium radiator purge is not fitted, A low placed 'T' does the job.

Details, read bottom of pictures

Edited: I do not have nor know what SAI is. If it uses a cooling path inside the radiator like some transmissions, I would just put a baby cooler externally and leave the radiator alone in peace.

Externet, thanks for the great info.
What did you do about the pipes on the radiator being the wrong size?

Does anyone know what on earth the SAI does with the radiator and why? This is adding up to one more reason I want to yank that thing out!
I'm thinking this to solve the hose issue perhaps?

Hi.
The outlet and inlet dimensions of that aluminium radiator are wrong (transposed) at the product description. Its outlet is 1 3/4" as in GM. At any car parts store or boneyard, there is plenty of hoses that fit and reduce to LandRover ----> Lower Plumbing Photo by Innernet | Photobucket
Cutting off a section to fit the lower plumbing leaves a good job for a couple of $.

The radiator inlet fits stock LandRover hose. ----> Left Mount Photo by Innernet | Photobucket

If the SAI feature is just a temperature sensor (I do not know) epoxying a sensor to the aluminium tank would take care of it.
The filling cap is just capped and buried under the top plastic shroud, ignoring it exists.
There is some plastic shaving/trimming needed.
