I did this job DIY, pretty basic stuff anyone could do...

You do need to have both a floor jack and the bottle jack to get it raised enough.

Ideally jack stands too but I did not need them as I did one wheel at a time.

Use one jack to get the tire off the ground and off the hub. Once the tire is off use the other jack to raise the body, then lower the first jack so that you can extend the spring enough to remove it.

One thing I also did was rotate the front shock turret 180 degrees so that the bolt is more accessible. You'll see when you get there.

I'm placing the order today. Should I do the steering damper as well?

I fitted new standard length Swedish made springs to the front, Terrafirma TF 118's and 119's standard shocks, new rear air suspension, new track and track control rods and the D2 drives and behaves perfectly on tarmac and mild offroad surfaces. I have to admit I'm impressed with TF shocks considering how cheap they are compared to others. I also have to admit that standard LR shocks are good considering they lasted 12 years and 120K miles with no issues.

The shocks and springs are in and the transformation is fantastic! While slightly stiffer, it no longer wallows in the corners or under hard braking. The local tire shop did the install and alignment for $330.

IMHO the original LR OEM shocks for onroad stuff, mine lasted 12 years and not one speck of rust.

If you seriously want to upgrade Bilstein are great but expensive for the better type.

My update... Earlier i mentioned my OME MD setup with the "soft" NC Sport shocks were starting to soften. I was incorrect. The shocks are starting to fail is the fact. Now the rear end bounces around on the springs and feels much less in control.

Purchased them Sept 2013 from L8 and now they're done. Around 45k miles on them tops, and yes they have been offroad but nothing radical. Washboard forest roads and lots of gravel but 80% freeway.

I have done some searching and found that the Bilsteins I previously ran may not work with the +2" OME springs as they are 22.3" uncompressed while the OME's are 24.6" I have read that it is not good to put regular length shocks on a lifted vehicle which makes total sense though i have no personal experience with this. Is anyone doing that anyway and what are the results?

However, It does seem that I will need to go with another set of +2" shocks, and the only choices are TF or another set of OME's. I was not real happy with the stiffness of the "soft" OME NC Sports.

There are posts online of plenty of people running TF shocks on OME springs... Anyone have any long term reviews of this setup? Im thinking of going to TF for the softer ride, not the cheaper price. So I am more interested in the ride and how they hold up.

Also I have to consider the possibility that the springs are the culprit behind the stiff ride and no shock will fix that. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!
