Ah, I should of clarified. I "found" the answer to my psi question-20psi. Did not find any leaks and even went a little higher just to make sure. Thinking block is ok. I will post some photos later. You had me thinking about rebuilding the bottom end too. Tempting.

 

i misunderstood I thought you found a leak in the block at 20 psi, my mistake.

well if the block is ok then the c2o had to either a leaking head gasket or possibly a crack in a head.

have the shop check the head when they will them, if they don't find anything then it would have had to be a head gasket

 

Here are some photos of the pressure test setup I made. Talking to the machine shop they test heads at 60psi. I think I should check the block again.
Notice the carbon cleaning on the heads. The piston tops have an even coating of carbon. Anyone good at reading these? Blow by?

one question for you could you have left the water pump on, and just looped the intake and discharge hoses?

 

You mean the discharge hose on the intake? I did fasten some rubber over the pump inlet with a hose clamp and it slowly inflated then exploded. I decided to check out the impeller on the pump anyway so I just took it off and made a template.

 

Only one hose left with the heads and intake off.
