Default Body bolts

I’m fitting new side steps in place of rotten old ones.

Same style as original (I think).

The brackets are different and require me to remove the old drop down extender nut and replace.

the extender nuts screw on to the body bolts, and of course one snapped when I was removing it.

the body bolts drop in from the top, so there is no way to remove the broken bit of bolt, to replace it.

I can work something out with a bit of thread bar, and multiple nuts to fit the step, but what’s the answer to getting the broken bolt out.

This is the situation. Its the passenger rear. There doesn't seem to be any access from above either.

Ah that one I think you would need to cut and then put a long bolt and and nut. Not sure what grade.

Got it.

Managed to wedge a long screw driver behind it. Then apply force with a clamp to just edge it past the lip of the body.

Bar up the hole and a swift smack with a heavy hammer.

@cappedup
Heya I just had this happen to me.. Wondering if when you replaced the bolt you went back in through the top, or bottom?

I don’t remember. The easiest way, for sure.
