Default Bottle Jack Knackered

The seals on my red bottle are knackered and I'm thinking of getting a taller bottle jack (one that will still fit in the hood box, or go ahead and get a high lift jack as I'm on some light trails more and more. The trick is, the last time I was in a 4x4 shop (they were pro-Rover, not just trying to mess with me) it was tossed around that high lift jacks are no good for the D2 as there's very little to grab unless you have sliders. What do you all say?

I hate bottle Jack's with a passion. I've almost had my truck roll off a cliff in Colorado because the damn jack bent.

If I didn't have a hilift, I would get one of these inflatable Jack's. They look pretty awesome

Mine died, they are over $200 to replace if you can find one. I just bought a Craftsman 3 ton for about $30. It's only downside is that it does not have the curved ends that fit on the axles. It works though.

Hi-Lift Jack LM-100 Lift-Mate https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00042KGWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-VNqzbB6M1ARD

blam, for use with Hi Lift.

I have this with the Smittybuilt version of the hi lift. Works great.larger jack plate than the real hi lift so you don't have to buy that accessory, too. Only thing was I had to drill out the retention hole for the jack mate to be larger.

What if you need to change a tire?

I carry a jack stand. I'm not changing a tire without one unless it's a big shop size floor jack unless I absolutely have to. Even then I still use one. I've seen too many cars fall off of jacks or fall through cinder blocks. Happened to my great uncle. Cinder block broke and the car landed on his head. He lived somehow.
