I swap between the 2991 and 2634 based on anticipated ambient temps (in both my D1 and P38). The 2991 does scream so I use it only in July/Aug when it is nasty hot here in the NYC area.
If you put a bit of anti-seize on the thread to the water pump, and have a cheap fan clutch wrench, all you need to do is remove the shroud, place the fan clutch wrench on the fan clutch, give it a gentle tap to the passenger side and it will spin freely in seconds. No hassle whatsoever.
Then all you do beyond that is swap the fan. Five hex bolts hold the fan to the clutch. If it takes more than 10 minutes you are doing something wrong.
