Default Cam and crank settings v8 01 disco II

When crank # 1 cylinder is at uppermost position, and cam shaft gear mark is at 600. If the two marks are where they are supposed to be, can the timing still be off in relationship to the intake and exhaust valves opening. Hope this question is understandable, hard to explain what I am thinking. Just installed new cam. Want to make sure there isnt a valve orientation other then the gear marks lining up.

Thanks Mrg

I understand your question but I do not know the answer.
Have you looked in the Rave manual?
Its a free download, just do a search for it on the forum.

There is only one way those 2 gears can be aligned. If your chain and gears are worn then obviously it could affect the engine's performance. With a new chain and gears you should be good to go, just line up the gears and you are fine.
