Cold start, specifically listen to the tap tap tap after I put it in D to drive away (around 26 seconds). Exhaust leaks are all sorted and it sounds loads better, so the only thing I'm left with is possible bad lifters? Or is this just normal clattery Disco noise?

Ignore the whiny PS pump. Another one is going in this week.

What does it do when it gets warmed up? And when fully warmed up, what temp does it run at?

Fully warmed up it is just a classic smooth, bass-y V8 rumble. No ticks. In fact that tappy tap noisy in the video is just about gone by the time I’m a quarter mile down the street.

Oil pressure normal. Water temp ~188.

Mine sounds exactly like this when cold, but I think my fixed exhaust leak is still leaking a little bit. When it warms up however, I get a different ticking which is definitely internal. Replaced the lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, timing chain and no difference in noise.

Mine has been making this sound since 113k miles now just about at 200k. Never cared enough to figure it out, and if it aint broken dont fix it.

Pretty much every Disco I’ve ever had makes that exact same noise. I’m fine with it. (pre facelift or facelift)
