Default Cannot take out EVAP valve--stuck!

Hey guys,

I am trying to replace the EVAP valve. However, it is stuck and I cannot take it out. Can't even twist it out of the housing. Are there any tips or tricks to that? Should I let the car run for some time to warm up the hoses? What happens if I try to squeeze some WD40 between the housing and the hose? I am running out of ideas...

Thank you, --mc

Purge Control Valve? I've personally had to cut a few off and then use new hose on them. Sometimes they will pull out just fine, but I've also had a few that put up a fight. If cut off carefully you can then replace the hose and use some nice SS hose clamps.

Yes, purge valve. Ok, so this is not good news for me. Where would I get these hoses?

Any NAPA or auto parts store sells bulk fuel or vacuum hose.

Ok, so I put some muscle into it. Broke off the plastic clip that holds the fuel line on the right side of the purge valve. Broke off the metal clips that hold the valve on each side. Lost the metal clip on the black connector. Essentially, I must replace all the parts indicated by arrows in the pic below.

Is it safe to replace the metal clamps with stainless steel clamps with a bolt as a fastener?
Does anyone know the part # for the plastic clip?
Does anyone know where I can get the metal clip that popped out of the connector?

Thank you!

First step in removing the Purge Control Valve is disconnecting the end which connects to the Intake (squeeze and remove type connector), then the metal clip you just push/pull to remove the connector, then you gently pull it out from the plastic clips. Then unscrew the hose clamps, and remove the Purge Control Valve. On the OEM setup it used metal clamps you had to tear off literally, but a small flat blade usually could bend em open.

Yep, so I moved on to the next part: re-assembly. The metal clips won't be re-used--I butchered them too much. Will try to use normal metal clips w screws. The plastic clip, however, is gone for good...

With the plastic clip totally removed you should be able to route a zip tie in the same way to secure it.
