Catastrophic failure: front window 😆
#21
The issue has been resolved. I pulled back the driver door rubber grommet and found 3 severed wires. A black wire and the 2 wires from the window motor. Snipped off the ends, installed new wires and secured with butt connectors and finally wrapped everything tight with several layers of electric tape. Window is working again and my security system seems to work better now (presumably the black wire). Thanks for the suggestions.

It sounds like the window mechanism chewed up the wiring.

Not sure. The location where the wires were severed was between the door and the body of the truck, inside the rubber grommet. There is no way for those wires to retract back through into the door panel in order to get chewed up by the window regulator. I noticed that all the wires in the harness had a sliver of their coating shaved off but the rubber grommet that encases said harness appears to have no tears or pinch marks. I wrapped the 3 repaired wires with electric tape before applying several additional layers of tape around the entire exposed harness. Hopefully this prevents any future tearing.

Spoke too soon. Tonight both front windows stopped working. When I press either switch you can hear a clicking sound at the bcu under the glove box. Back windows work but both windows are done. Interior fuse box fuses are good and I checked the fuse box under the hood and those are good to. Research Ive gathered suggests its time for a BCU but that will have to wait a bit. Gonna grab a 12v battery off amazon and use it to try and roll up the window for now.
