Default CDL Conversion

HI, so my discovery 2 with manual gearbox does not have a CDL-capable transfer box. It is becoming clearer and clearer that a CDL conversion is required to do any amount of proper offroading.

I would like to know if the 1:2 transfer box from a discovery 1 would fit properly? I hear that they are actually slightly stronger than a transferbox from a discovery 2. The only think that comes to mind is that there may be less sensors on it? not sure if it makes sense!

thanks
Mark

Actually from what I’ve always heard the 96-04 TC was more refined/stronger vs earlier units.

D1 box will fit no problem, but the LT230SE is an improved box, '04 being the best year. In the D2 workshop manual it describes in more detail the changes made
