Default check engine (again)

had the disco scanned the other day and it ran codes for a misfire in 2 cylinders. removed spark plugs and wires. cleaned and reinstalled and it went away. had disco scanned again today and it ran P1884- transmission transfer case disengaged solenoid short to ground, and engine coolant level lamp circuit short to ground.

does anyone have any suggestions.

also replacing MAF, seems to be running rich and having problems in low end acceleration.

Well most of the running rich problems are due to bad plugs and wires.
You must use either Magnecor plug wires or Land Rover wires.
The Magnecors are the best choice of the two.
When was the last time you changed your air filter? A dirty air filter will cause it to run rich as well.
That is where I would start, plugs and wires.
I do not know anything about that code that you have, but the mis fires are bad plugs and wires.

You can get your spark plugs at any auto parts store.

Do your self a big favor, don't clean or replace the MAF, you have no codes or other indicators of it failing.
Now for the 1884, that is one of Rovers biggest fault codes, let me short you the short versioin.
1884:
Engine friction invalid
Engine TPS invalid
Rngine temp. invalid
Road speed invalid
Road torque invalid
Engine speed invalid
Engine air intake temp invalid
Last but not least, Altitude shift control invalid

Now where do you want to start? The only thing you can do is find a mechanic with a really high end scanner that can check each of these to find which is the problem and repair it.
Let us know what you find.
