Default check engine flashing 2003 disco 90 k

Hello.

Engine Light came on today out of nothing.

I changed Plugs and wires ( magnecore ) 10 days ago. When coming to a stop light stops flashing, but when accelerating it starts to Flash again.

I can feel some vibration at low RPM that seem Like Misfires.

I´m away from home with the family and no real good workshops arround here so I would really need some Pointers Please.

Thanks

Flashing CEL = misfire. So, if you state that the flashing stops when the DII is at a full stop then that means you have a fuel delivery issue or a condition that is allowing a very lean condition under acceleration. It is very difficult to tell the exact cause without the data stream / snapshot and the fault codes.

I would check and make sure that there is no vacuum leak between the MAF and the throttle body. Also, I would listen to the fuel pump, if it is noisy than that means the fuel filter is clogged and you may have purchased some bad gasoline, since you state you are away from home.

Post the codes if you can and will be able to pinpoint the problem.

Try and find someone down there in Mexico that can read and give you the 4 digit fault, then get back to us, in the mean time do not drive it much cause this can with time cause damage to your cats.

Turns out it was a Loose Cable ( congratulations OK disco Guy ) I reacently changed them for Maganecore and one of them got Loose and burned wile making contact with the head gasket and causing a Mis Fire....I made a repair with Black tape that seems OK

Do I need to Buy a new set ???

I wasn´t able to reset the code since i dont have a scanner but it is not flashing any more and runs smooth again. I´ll reset it in My shop when I´m back in Mexico city. It´s sunday now and I dont think Ill be able to find a shop with a scaner in Cuernavaca ( very small town , tourism mostly )

Should I check anything else ??

The tape will burn thru in a few days, call and order 1 new wire and yes, it will take a scanner to make the code clear.
