Check this out 2!!
ok guys, i did what everyone suggested on my earlier post and disconnected my belt and started my truck and no noise. i then spun every component and pulley and no ticking noise either. i pulled off my shroud to tighten up my belt again and noticed a little play on the water pump pulley and was making a rattling sound. the pump doesnt move or is it leaking at all, also there is no overheating. the fan is also fine no wobble and moves like its supposed to. im really thinking that its my water pump pulley. my question is can i just replace the pulley or should i just replace the waterpump itself?? and is it possible for a pulley to make that loud ticking noise?? thanks again guys!

If you are talking about the pulley you had to move on the right side of the engine, to remove belt, you are talking about the tensioner. Is the pulley loose (wobbly) or is the tensioner not springing back into place once moved?

oh,ok. i loosened the idler pulley on the left. wrong pulley!! its on there right and nice and tight but my belt is still a little loose so could i tighten that with the pulley on the right of the engine? and also i did order a new pump as well. i was thinking maybe its not the pulley thats making that noise but the pump bearings behind it are loose and causing the impellor to hit against metal making that loud ticking sound. is that possible? thanks again for the quick response.
