You mean that NAPA sells? Only the NAPA Gold is made by WIX.
I was talking about the WIX labeled filter.

All I can say about Mobil 1 0w-40 full synthetic is that after 167,000 miles of using nothing but that oil and changing it every 10,000 miles instead of the recommended 15,000 miles that Mercedes Benz says the engine in my work van blew up.

Rod bearings and rings worn out.

mobil 1 0w40 does not impress me, from UOA it has been shown to shear very quickly down to a 30wt oil. As far as mobil oil for discos I like m1 5w40 TDT, delvac 1 ESP 5w40, m1 15w50, m1 10w40 HM, or the regular Delvac 15w40 Dino.

Did Orielly's include the M1 filter? Autozone is during the sale.

In my truck I am going to switch to Castrol Tection Extra 15w-40 and change it every 5,000 miles and call it good.
I can get it at Wal-Mart, it is $10 for a gallon jug.
They dont sell it by the quart so I will just buy it by the gallon.

They have all of those at my Wal-Mart's too but only in the 15w-40 weights and nothing else, and no full synthetic Rotella either.
I like Castrol motor oil, I have been using it ever since I got my first car but nobody carries it in the weight that I was using before, so I switched to Mobil 1 15w-50.
But it is also hard to find now and the price has gone though the roof on it so screw it.

From the research that I have done the only difference between a full synthetic oil and a good heavy duty oil is the cold pumpablility.

Yeah you are not going to want to use 15w40 dino oil in the winter without an oil pan heater or with a very good battery and letting your oil come up to temp before you go above 2k rpms. The synthetic HDEOs offer extended drain capability.

No matter the oil I use I am a firm believer in letting a engine warm up before driving and I always keep the rpm below 2k until the temp gauge is at the normal range.
Even in the summer time I keep it below 2k if it has sat over night or all day but I will only give it a min or so warm up if the outside temp is above 40*F.
I have a good battery, 1000CCA.
But still I use full syn 5w-30 in the winter time.
