Are the control buttons supposed to be back lit when the headlight switch is on? On mine, the display is on but none of the buttons.

 

Yes, the climate control head is back-lit in certain areas. I know for sure the temp up/down (blue/red) buttons are. There are replaceable mini bulbs that can be accessed, I think, by removing the head from the dash, disconnecting the harness, then removing several small phillips screws to expose the bulb holders.
