Default HVAC question about Disco I

This is a first post for me and please be kind and type slow - I'm a new Disco owner and more of an MG guy. I have no repair manuals yet, and have an immediate issue with the dual climate controls.

With tha A/C on and fan set to recycle the air, the passenger side still blows warm when turned (slid) all the way cold. How do I remove the heater control to adjust the cables? Do I need to? I assume the doors are cable operated and the housings or cable length can be adjusted. I also have a problem with the main airflow direction **** slipping (clicking noise) and it won't turn all the way CCW anymore.

The good news is that the air still blows cold on the driver's side!!!

If anyone has anything to add, please do!!! I'm no dummy, but this sounds like a sore back about to happen!
