Default Clunking noise?

I have a clunking noise that i hear when ever i give my discovery 2gas (accelerate). Im thinking that it is a worn out U joint or could it be that rubber piece that is on the shafts? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks

So what have you done so far to find the problem, have you checked your roto flex, how about greasing both slip shafts, greasing the u-joints and have you replaced the two rear u-joints on your front drive shaft where it hooks to the t/case?

Did you ever find out what the clunking noise is? I hear it on and off my truck as well but have never yet discovered by both local mechanic or dealership what it is!

Stacey, Rovers are known for their klunking sounds if you hit the gas and then the brakes, it is normally usual. The one thing to do though is to make sure that your u-joints are all greased, that your rotoflex is not cracked and that the 2 u-joints that attach to the t/case have grease fittings on them.

thanks guys

iv checked my joints and grease fittings but it makes a loud clunk when im coasting and then i accelerate.(it clunks then). i think i have it narrowed down to the front drive shaft. Are the transer cases prone to have problems? because i believe that it is coming from there.
