Default Coolant Bleed

I just did a coolant change on my 04 Disco 2, When bleeding the system instead of a steady stream, coolant came gushing out. I assumed maybe it was good so I put the bleed screw back on and let the engine get up to temp. I don't hear any water noises but there is a little bit of bubbling in the reservoir tank. Is the system good? Or does it need another bleed?

You won't know until it is ice cold. Don't be surprised if the level drops. Big thing is to listen for the waterfall sound when you are sitting inside and starting it up.

Repeat the bleed process multiple times after the engine has completely cooled down and sat for while (over night). Raise the reservoir in order to make the bleed port the lowest point.

I see this is your first post. Welcome to the forum! It's a great community with a lot of great information and support.

You should always bleed the cooling system with the engine cooled down fully to ambient temp. And that also means it's done with the engine not running. Did you have the engine running when "coolant came gushing out"?

Although some on this forum have reported trying all kinds of tricks to bleed the cooling system, I have never had any problem doing so following the steps listed in the factory workshop manual. It's called the RAVE here (Rover Automated Viewing Environment). I've pasted the link below, plus it's in my signature below. The instructions for cooling system Drain and Refill start on p.428 of the PDF. Ignore the steps for removing the drain plugs from the engine block.
