cooling system hose installation - need some guidance
#21
bballjames - 15 psi is a good test value, cap vents at about 18. If staying at 204F, then something is not quite right. Stock stat starts to open at 180F, and is fully open at 204F. If at 204 always, you are running so warm that thermostat is not controlling the temperature. Would be more normal to see warm up, fall back, and stay at somewhere less than 204, moving up to 204 or a little higher when run hard, then returned to idle (freeway and then into the drive thru lane at burger joint). Perhaps radiator is somewhat restricted.
Christopher121 - see cooling system download in my signature. Read each section. Helps if you tell us what kind of Land Rover you are working with, and if not a Rover, we'll still try.

Thanks for the info Buzz. I think she might run a tad warm... usually on the highway I'm at about 195 average. While in stop and go traffic usually about 200-208 depending on ambient air and if A/C is going. While idling for a couple minutes though will usually sit right at 199-200. Haven't been concerned with those temps yet, but I might throw in the freelander thermo to lower those temps a bit.
