Cracked open Air Conditioning System
Hey Guys,
Alright I took my compressor off and opened the ac system. Now its time to get it back together. Everything is back on and I am ready to vacuum the system out so I can recharge it.
Except I dont know how. can you guys give me the "how to" up to jumping the wires and putting in 134A. It holds 22oz corect?

What were you doing that you had to take the compressor off and disconnect the hoses? You don't even need to disconnect the hoses from the compressor when replacing the engine. It just unbolts from the intake and you can secure it to the left inner fender, hoses still attached.
x2 on replacing the drier. The desiccant in the drier is now shot as it has absorbed moisture from the atmosphere.

Vacume down to negative 5 at least. Insert the PAX oil first and then the Freon. Make sure you know how much PAX oil to use. Too little and you will burn up the compressor. If you removed the compressor you should be installing a new expansion valve and dryer. Charge the system and check the gages for proper pressure low/high. OH AND BY THE WAY, IT IS ILLEGAL TO EXPELL FREON INTO THE ATMOSPHERE. Have you heard about the ozone problem?

Moving from the coast the valley, you become appreciative of vehicles with A/C. I converted a few non-A/C cars of mine to know the basics of installing and servicing these things.....it's also good to know someone in the business for troubling shooting help...
