They probably started building model year 2003 during the summer of 2002. Like I said, my 1994 Range Rover, purchased in November of 1993 had a build date of June 1993. They usually stop building cars for a particular model year in the spring of that model year. So it's conceivable that you could buy a 2003 model that was built in March, April or even May of 2003.
I also remember Land Rover was still selling 1995 Range Rover's badged as Classics. The last SWB's that were a special package through the end of 1995 and into 1996. Rover was cleaning the shelves of everything they had to finish off the last of the original Range Rovers. A car bought in early 1996 as a 1995 model could easily have been 9 months old.
If business is good it's unlikely you'll be buying a truck that's more than 5-6 months past its build date. However, if business is slow who knows how long ago that truck was built.
