Default Dead Disco in the Driveway

Today I rebuilt my steering sector and high pressure cleaned the engine compartment. Now it will not start. The check engine light has been on for months due to a failing spark amplifyer and ABS being removed from the vehicle when I added hydra boost brakes.

When the ignition switch is turned on for about 20 seconds nothing happens in the acc. position and the motor will not crank. When the power comes on after twenty seconds the motor spins freely apparently never trying to fire.

Anybody got a clue lost in Escondido.

Thanks Ironman472

Clean and tighten your battery cables. From there. check voltage in your fuse box in the engine bay...

Yep, done anddone. Still dead. Hope it will start after it dries out. It sis not happy about being wet. going to leave battery disconnected tonight. As the turn signals worked without moving the turn signal stalk when cranking the motor.

Pull your fuse box in the cab and see if it is wet. I had a slight leak that allowed water to get in the box. I could turn on the key and about 20 seconds later, it would start by itself and run. Lights were haywire as well. If you have a leaky grommet coming in the firewall, it could follow the wires back.

Update, after sitting for twentyfour hours, still dead. I blew out all the connectors under the hood with compressed air. Checked the underhood and the drivers side fuse panels by dropping them down and checked for any moisture none, checked all the fuses good. But water did come thru the firewall on passengers side and soaked the alarm. I removed the alarm and have it on the workbench drying. Charging the battery (ultima) for next round after work.

If your side markers or turn indicators are flashing, then it is either an inerita switch that needs to be reset or your alarm.

Update -Success

Patience pays off. Reassembled the alarm (It wasn't designed to come apart) after it had dried out reinstalled
and I am back in bussiness. Thanks for all of the help and moral support.
